What’s Really True?

‘…let God change the way you think…’ Romans 12:2 CEV
There is so much going on around us that it’s hard to sift through the noise and hear the still small voice of God. The media has so much influence on your life, and everyone seems to have an opinion on something. The thing is, what the media says one day can change the next, and information is labelled ‘true,’ but based on speculation. What’s true and false has become blurred.
So, in all this noise, how can you discern what God is saying? Well, the Bible gives us loads of tips to help us; here are a few of them:
Tip No.1) ‘Plans go wrong for lack of advice – many counsellors bring success.’ God puts wise and trustworthy people around you; take advantage of that. If you need advice, ask. Tip No 2) ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart…and he will make your paths straight…’ (Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV). Put your trust in him – he is faithful and as you acknowledge him he promises to make your way straight and clear. Tip No 3) ‘Don’t be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him’ (Romans 12:2 CEV). God doesn’t want you immune to his voice – he wants you to know it well and follow it.
So what now? What God says is true; that’s the truth. When there’s too much noise, take time out to hear his voice. Maybe start with time set out once a week?
