“And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not” John 1:5
Reflections – The world was covered in gross darkness since the fall of the first Adam in the garden of Eden. Sin, sickness, afflictions, poverty, injustices and turbulence became the order of the day. Then, Jesus came into the world. Jesus is the light of the world. Jesus has come to undo the acts of the devil for those who believe. If you believe in Jesus you are no more overcome by evil but you become an evidence of God’s goodness. Light does not extinguish darkness but pushes it far. Try this in your house and you will see. When you put on light there will still be some dark corners. The more light you have the better. The implication of this is that Christ will only provide illumination for those who come under His banner. When you are born again you become light personified and the deeds of darkness and their effects will be far from you. You are above principalities and powers; the challenges and troubles that unbelievers face are no longer your portion. Arise and shine for the light of Christ is in you.
1. Lord, let your light envelope me anew to dispel every rampaging darkness.
2. Lord, help me to overcome every hurdle and escape every trap of the enemies.
3. Lord, lift me beyond adversities, sorrows and afflictions.
